Louisiana’s Cultural Community Backing Dardenne For Governor
Louisiana’s cultural community is rallying behind Lt. Governor Jay Dardenne for Governor. The campaign released a Dardenne endorsement video which includes noted Louisiana musicians, artists, actors and chefs like Jay Ducote who made it to the finals on this season’s Food Network Star.
"Spotlighting Louisiana food is a big part of our tourism industry," Ducote told the Louisiana Radio Network. "That's one area that Jay has really defined as part of the overall marketing strategy for the state of Louisiana."
Acadiana's own 2015 Grammy Award winner Jo-el Sonnier also appears in the spot singing the praises of the efforts by Dardenne to promote Louisiana music.
"Jay is a great investor and representative for Louisiana, not only for a musician but for the system and the culture that we have in Louisiana," Sonnier says in the video.
The Louisiana film industry is also rallying behind Dardenne in his bid for Governor. Faith Ford from Pineville is best known for her role as Corky Sherwood in Murphy Brown.
"We understand how the film and television industry can help us, and help our people long-term," Ford said."Jay understands that."
The videos featuring the celebrities noted above, among many others, can be found on Jay Dardenne's official Web site.
