Louisiana’s Tallest Christmas Tree Part of New Holiday Experience

Fans of Christmas have been rejoicing ever since we blew out the candle in the Jack-O-Lantern last Thursday night. Halloween has come and gone. Now from Shreveport to Ruston, Monroe to Minden. Alexandria to Arnauldville, and Lafayette to Lake Charles we can start focusing on Christmas.

Okay, we'll take some time off later this month to fry a turkey and enjoy some yams but now is the time to start making Christmas plans because they are different from Thanksgiving plans. Thanksgiving plans revolve around the food and then whose home is hosting the food.

Christmas plans involve making memories. And for a lot of families that means sometimes being outside in the winter chill looking at and being amazed by holiday lights and decorations. And while we all have our favorite displays we love to see, I think we'd all appreciate a new Christmas memory to add to our repertoire.

As luck would have it we do have an exciting new Christmas light and Holiday display opening on November 22, 2024. And this display promises to deliver a lot more than just lights. It's called Lumiere, an immersive Christmas Experience.  If you love the holidays we think you won't mind making the short drive to Desoto Parish.

Earlier this year we told you of the plan to build an exciting 32-acre holiday-themed attraction in Desoto Parish near the community of Stonewall. Construction on the project was already underway when we first mentioned the story to you and now, it looks as if the park will be ready for guests later this month.

In addition to featuring Louisiana's Tallest Christmas Tree, Lumiere will also feature

• 1/2 mile walk through light trail
• Synthetic snow tubing
• Interactive light maze
• 300-foot light tunnel
• Culinary offerings
• Artisan & purveyor village

As you might imagine the park will need artisans and craftsmen to fill the booths and if that's you. They'd like to discuss the opportunity with you.

The park offers individual and family tickets and you can purchase season tickets if you'd like to do that. You can even choose your specific day and what time of day you'd like your party to arrive. This should help with crowd and traffic control and make a visit to the facility that much more enjoyable.

The park is scheduled to open on November 22nd and will be open until December 31st. Including these special hours, 6p-9p on Christmas Eve, 6p-9p on Christmas Day, and 5p to 11p (subject to change) on New Year's Eve.
