According to Fox 8 New Orleans, the work of New Orleans Police appears to have saved lives during the cities Pride Parade fest ivies. Authorities in the French Quarter arrested 25-year-old Cody Jackson for bringing multiple weapons to the parade route.

Jackson was found in possession of a semi-automatic AR-15 rifle, as well as a handgun. Officers were able to take Jackson in without a single shot being fired.

According to The Advocate, the arrest took place at the corner of Royal and Barracks around 7pm the night of the parade. They add that this was Jackson's second run-in with police over the last month. Earlier this year Jackson entered a store carrying a similar rifle, with a handgun as well.

There has been no official word on Jackson's motives during the Pride Parade event.
