Something happened in the year 2010 that reverberated all the way back to 1977 in the minds of many Louisiana residents. Those who appreciate and love the "Gulf Western" lifestyle and the music of Chief Parrothead-in-Charge Jimmy Buffett finally had a place to call their own.

You see, the year 2010 was the year the very first Margaritaville Hotel opened its doors. You may have stayed at the hotel on Pensacola Beach, Florida. But alas, like a Cheeseburger in Paradise, all good things must come to an end.

The Margaritaville Hotel on Pensacola Beach has announced that it will transition from that moniker and soon be operated as an independent hotel. The hotel's new name will be the Pensacola Beach Resort. That name change and rebranding becomes official as of June 1st.

The property will retain the same management and ownership group but won't be included under the Margaritaville brand any longer. There will also be extensive changes and renovations done to the property. According to Corsair Hospitality Group, the management company for the facility, updates to the pool deck, furnishings, and artwork are already underway.

The new Pensacola Beach Resort will also make changes to the Margaritaville-themed Frank & Local Love Pensacola Cafe and the LandShark Landing Beach Bar. The resort will also add rooms with fireplaces and pickleball courts in the near future as well. During the renovation and rebranding, the property will remain open and guests will have access to most services and amenities during their stay.

If you've never visited the soon-to-be Pensacola Beach Resort it really is situated on a very nice stretch of Pensacola Beach. The hotel boasts 162 guest rooms. Two dozen of those rooms are considered to be executive rooms with wrap-around balconies. The property is situated on some 800 feet of Gulf of Mexico beachfront and another 800 feet of views of Pensacola Bay.

Guests who have current reservations with the property, either as Margaritaville or Pensacola Beach Resort should have no issues with those arrangements even as the property undergoes the rebranding and the physical changes on site.
