You can ask Louisiana Mega Millions Lottery players in Eunice, New Orleans, Houma, and Slidell if it pays to play the game. They'll likely say yes because lottery players in each of those Louisiana cities have experienced firsthand what it's like to win big money while hoping for bigger money.

True they didn't win the "millions" in the Mega Millions game but a prize of $10,000 is nothing to sneeze at either. Unless you were hoping for a payout more along the lines of $1.1 billion dollars which is what last night's Mega Millions Jackpot was estimated to be.

If you haven't figured it out, let me make it clear. Nobody won the big money and the jackpot will be even bigger when 10 pm rolls around on Friday night. But in keeping with Louisiana's $10,000 Mega Millions tradition we do have confirmation that three tickets sold in The Boot will be banking 10-Grand each after last night's drawing.

Speaking of that drawing. Here's how it played out for Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

Here are the numbers that were drawn as confirmed by the Mega Millions website.

07   13   14   15   18   Mega Ball 09  Megaplier x3

No tickets sold across the game's footprint matched the numbers needed to claim the estimated top prize of $1.1 billion. That means on Friday night, the jackpot will swell to an estimated annuitized amount of $1.35 million.

If you win and want the lump sum cash option your payout will be $707.9 million. Of course, the tax person will want their cut on the state and federal level, but still, I don't know anyone that would turn the money down for that reason.

As of early this morning, the Louisiana Lottery only has preliminary information posted on its website about winning tickets sold across the state. We do see that there were three $10,000 winners sold in Louisiana for last night's drawing. We should find out those tickets' point-of-purchase later today and this story will be updated to reflect that information when it becomes available.

In breaking down how Louisiana tickets fared in last night's drawing we see that 173 tickets won prizes of $200 dollars or more. Eighteen of those tickets are worth $1,500 this morning and more than 2,500 tickets sold in Louisiana for last night's Mega Millions are worth between $10 and $30 dollars.

Meanwhile, tonight's Powerball jackpot will offer lottery players a chance to win an estimated $360 million dollars in tonight's scheduled drawing for that game. The Louisiana Lottery will also be starting new jackpots in the Lotto game and the Easy 5 game after jackpots in both of those draw games were won last weekend. The Lotto winner was over $3 million, you'll never guess where that ticket was sold.

Tonight's Powerball drawing is at 10 pm. The next Mega Millions drawing is at 10 pm on Friday the 13th. Don't let that spook you. The Mega Millions website says jackpots have been won on Friday the 13th six times in the game's history. How about we make it lucky number seven on Friday and make it a first-time jackpot win for Louisiana's lottery players?

See Inside Jimmy Buffett's Staggering $6.9 Million Palm Beach Mansion

Jimmy Buffett sure knows how to live the good life. His former 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom, 4,039-square-foot mansion in the exclusive Eden Properties neighborhood in Palm Beach is exactly the kind of laid-back home you'd expect the superstar to relax in when he's off the road.

The interior centers around a combined dining and living room with eye-popping vaulted ceilings topped off by skylights, while a massive wall of mahogany-framed sliding glass doors looks out over the pool area outside. The kitchen is decorated in gleaming white, and each of the bedrooms has its own attached bathroom, while the massive master suite also has sliding glass doors that open to both the pool and a bathroom that looks like it belongs in a high-end resort.

The exterior of the house is just as striking, centered around a sparkling pool of deep cobalt blue. The pool area features plenty of lounging, and a loggia just outside the living room offers open-air dining. There are lush gardens, brick paths that walk through elaborate pergolas and a fountain. The property also features a two-car garage with a guest suite overhead, and it offers deeded access to the beach nearby.
