Football season will officially begin for the faithful supporters of the LSU Tigers and the McNeese State Cowboys on Saturday night at 6:30. That is when the two teams will meet in Baton Rouge at Tiger Stadium to begin the 2015 campaign.

There had been some speculation about who would take the opening snaps for the Tigers on Saturday night. That speculation has ended.

LSU Head Football Coach Les Miles announced that Brandon Harris would be the starting quarterback for Saturday night's game. Harris was given the start over last year's starter Anthony Jennings. Coach Miles did say that he would not hesitate to use Jennings should Harris falter or the situation demand a change in the quarterback position.

As far as the rest of the Tigers are concerned, McNeese State is the focus. Christian LaCouture a junior defensive tackle for LSU told the Louisiana Radio Network that LSU is not taking the Cowboys for granted.

You know McNeese has a lot of great players. You saw what they did with Nebraska last year, they almost won the football game in Lincoln, so we can't take these guys lightly at all, it's a great football team. We just have to go out there and do our job, if we do that we'll be okay.

In that game at Nebraska the Cowboys fell by a score of 31-24. The McNeese program has had success against FBS schools in recent memory. They have upended South Florida and Middle Tennessee in 2013 and 2012 respectively.  You can bet the chance to take on LSU at Tiger Stadium will have the McNeese players and fans ready to give  their very best.
