Monday’s Powerball Produces $150,000 Winner in Louisiana
Louisiana's Powerball lottery luck continued with a big $150,000 win in Monday night's drawing of the popular multi-state lottery game. It marks the third big win that the state's lottery players have claimed in Powerball. The other two big wins came in last Wednesday's drawing.
In that drawing from August 24th, the Louisiana Lottery revealed the game had yielded a $200,000 winner and a $50,000 winner. Both winning tickets matched four of the five white ball numbers and the Powerball. The $200,000 winner had opted for the Powerplay option which was "times four" for the August 24th drawing.
The drawing for Monday, August 29th did not produce any million dollar or multi-million dollar winners across the Powerball footprint but Louisiana certainly claimed its share of the prize money with a big $150,000 ticket. Here's how the drawing for last night looked as it happened live.
The numbers drawn for last night's game according to the Powerball website were:
13 36 43 61 69 Powerball 18 Powerplay x 3.
The estimated top prize for last night's game was $124,500,000. Since there was no jackpot winner game officials estimate that Wednesday's drawing in the Powerball game will be for an estimated $134 million dollars.
In addition to the $150,000 winner sold in Louisiana, Lottery officials say there were eight tickets sold in the state that are worth $100 this morning and five tickets from last night are worth $300 this morning. Those $300 winners obviously opted in for the Powerplay.
The $150,000 winner was sold at M&A Shell in Shreveport. That business is located at 1342 Captain Shreve and the ticket purchaser matched four of the five white balls, the Powerball, and they had the Powerplay option invoked. Congratulations if you're the holder of this big money winner. Make sure you sign the back of your ticket as soon as possible.
Up next in the land of the lottery player is tonight's Mega Millions game. that jackpot will be an estimated $153 million when the ping pong balls drop just before 10 pm tonight Louisiana time. Remember for this and all lottery games only spend what you can afford to lose and please play responsibly.
