A tornado watch has been posted for much of Acadiana this morning. The threat of developing tornadoes and severe thunderstorms is expected to remain in the area until at least 9am.

This is the second day in a row residents of South Louisiana have been awakened by rumbles of thunders and frequent lightning.The National Weather Service radar in Lake Charles and Power Doppler 3000 from KATC TV will show you where the heaviest activity is this morning.

Severe thunderstorm warnings had been posted through the night in Avoylles parish as well as St. Martin, St. Landry and St. Mary parishes. The threat of strong thunderstorms should ease by later today. Partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the lower 80 degree range are what Dave Baker tells us we can expect for Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday.
