Carson Boutte turned 9-years-old over the weekend. Normally, that means a party with friends, family, presents and cake. With all that's happening around Acadiana from the floods, that just didn't seem like the right thing to do for Carson. What did seem like the right thing to do was to help. And that's exactly what this young man chose to do instead.

I normally wouldn't refer to a 9-year-old as a young man, but this kid's compassion and selflessness proves he's exactly that.

Carson told his family he had a dream that he delivered water and food to flood victims. He then told his family that instead of having a party on his birthday, he wanted to bring food to people in need.

Ross Boutte, Carson's father told KATC his son said "We're going to give them lunch so they don't have to stop what they're doing. We're just going to deliver pizzas to neighborhoods that have flooded."

What happened next was almost as amazing.

"What I'm more shocked about is how many people donated," Ross Boutte said. "We thought it was going to be just our family and whenever it got out through Facebook, it just looked like the love wanted to be spread all over the area."

Domino's even agreed to match the first 100 pizzas.

When it was all said and done, 363 pizzas delivered throughout Acadiana in honor of Carson's birthday. Several families even joined in to help Carson deliver all the pizzas.
