Two Dead Following Severe Storms Saturday
There were severe thunderstorms that rolled through Acadiana this morning, and one person has died.
While it has yet to be confirmed from any weather source, the storm damage witnessed by many this morning appears to be tornadic in nature. In fact, St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says a tornado hit Palmetto.
Several people were also taken to area hospitals as a result of heavy storms and winds that ripped through the area in the early morning hours Saturday.
Several homes and other buildings were destroyed by the winds that came through that section of Acadiana.
