Police Arrest Louisiana Woman Following Low Speed Pursuit
When you hear the words "police pursuit" your mind probably conjures up images of fast-paced live-action police drama. This was not the case in downtown Lake Charles yesterday morning. Police there apprehended a Zwolle woman following what turned out to be a low speed and short-lived pursuit.
According to reports Lake Charles Police were called to a Ryan Street restaurant yesterday morning to check on a report of a motorist passed out in a vehicle. When police arrived on the scene they noticed Krystal Gaudet of Zwolle apparently sleeping in her vehicle. When she noticed the officers she fled the scene.
Gaudet's attempt to evade the officers was short-lived as she left police on what was described as a low-speed pursuit down Ryan Street. The "pursuit" came to an end when Gaudet crashed her vehicle into a street sign at the corner of Ryan and Division Streets.
After a trip to the hospital, Gaudet was booked on charges of aggravated flight and DWI. Guadet is also facing drug charges in connection with the incident.
