Powerball, No Big Winner – Two $50,000 Winners Sold In Louisiana
On Tuesday, Louisiana and the nation got a little relief from the lottery fever that's been sweeping the country when a single ticket won the $1.6 billion Mega Millions jackpot. That game also produced nine $10,000 winning tickets that were purchased in Louisiana.
But still, there was another huge lottery jackpot looming.
Last night (Oct.24) Powerball players were hoping to cash in on a $620 million windfall but alas there was no single ticket sold that matched the necessary numbers to claim the Powerball prize. There were two tickets sold in Louisiana that matched four of the five white ball numbers and the Powerball to claim a $50,000 payout.
Those tickets were sold in Alexandria at the Circle K on Jackson Street Extension and in Boutte at the Champions Express Mart on Highway 90. Here are the winning numbers from the October 24th drawing:
The next Powerball drawing will be on Saturday night. The estimated jackpot will be $750 million. The one-time payout option will be an estimated $428 million. Of course Uncle Sam will lay claim to about $160 million of that, but still, that would leave about $268 million for your relatives and strangers to make your life a living hell over.
