Prejean's Restaurant in Lafayette has been serving up delicious Cajun cuisine for over 40 years. However, for the last several weeks, the restaurant has been closed due to renovations.

We now know when the Acadiana hotspot will reopen. According to new owner Tim Metcalf, the target re-opening date is Monday, February 8th.

Metcalf bought the restaurant from Bob Guilbeau back in November. Guilbeau opened Prejean's in April 1980.

Many on social media were questioning whether Metcalf would turn the restaurant into another Deano's Pizza. (He owns that popular business as well.) Metcalf, however, has debunked any of those rumors and has promised to keep the spirit of Prejean's alive as he remodeled the interior.

Prejean's will also be holding a job fair on Tuesday, January 19 and Saturday, January 23 from 10 am to 2 pm at the restaurant. They're looking to hire for positions such as line/prep cooks, hosts, bartenders, servers, and more.
