John Tyler was the 10th President of the United States, serving from 1841 until 1845. Tyler was born in 1790, but his grandson and great grandson are still alive in 2018. How is this even possible? It's not a riddle or a trick, here's why...

It's mind boggling to think that only three generations of the Tyler family span almost the entire history of the United States. As you'll see in the video below, it's possible because of remarriages and the young wives of Tyler ancestors.

President Tyler's first wife passed away while they were still married. He was then remarried to a woman 30 years younger when he was 52-years-old. They had many children, one of whom was Lyon Tyler, born in 1853. Lyon's first wife also passed away, and he remarried someone much younger as well.

One of Lyon Tyler's children with his much younger second wife was Harrison Tyler born in 1928, grandson of President Tyler. His son William is obviously President Tyler's grandson.

We often forget just how young of a country we truly are.
