Replicas of the Nina and Pinta Will Dock in Biloxi

Replicas of the Nina and Pinta will dock in Biloxi on Wednesday, February 19^th, and on Thursday, February 20^th you can board. According to the Columbus Foundation, they will be historically accurate “floating museums”. It’s reported the Nina was built completely by hand, with no power tools. The Pinta is described as “the Space Shuttle of the 15^th century”.

The Niña is the ship that Columbus sailed across the Atlantic on his three voyages of discovery to the new world beginning in 1492. However, the replica will be a floating museum that will travel to ports all over the Western Hemisphere. 

The Pinta was recently built in Brazil to accompany the Nina on all of her travels. There will be a large deck space for walk-aboard tours. The Pinta is available for private parties and charters.

This sounds like a wonderful family day that will be fun and educational. Admission is $8.50 for adults, $7.50 for seniors, and $6.50 for students ages 5-15. Children under the age of 4 are free. Sounds like it's time to aboard and do some discovering and exploring.

The Nina and Pinta will be docked at the Maritime and Seafood Industry’s schooner Pier Complex on Beach Boulevard. The public can board the ships and take a tour from 9 AM to 5 PM until they depart on Monday, March 2^nd.
