Scott Police Arrest Man With Carload Of Stolen Power Tools
Maybe it was just a hunch, maybe it was just a sharp-eyed observation by a Scott Police Officer, regardless of what prompted it, it ended with the arrest of a 17-year-old Houston Texas man.
According to reports, a Scott Police Officer was doing routine traffic patrol on Cameron Street when he noticed a vehicle being operated in an erratic way. The officer attempted to pull the vehicle over but the driver chose to not stop.
This lead to a brief pursuit that ended when the suspect vehicle was crashed. Once officers engaged the suspect inside they discovered almost $6,000 worth of stolen power equipment. There were several chainsaws and a couple of power generators.
Police say Demond'Tre Cockrell was placed under arrest on possession of stolen items charges and possession of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle charges were added after it was discovered that the car in question was reported stolen from the Houston Texas area. That same vehicle was reportedly used in a burglary of a Lafayette business.
