Shaking Out the Good Stuff For Veteran’s Day
Today we shine the Shaking Out the Good Stuff spotlight from Morton Salt's Weeks Island facility on the men and women who have served our great nation in our armed forces. Today is Veteran's Day and without the sacrifice of these men and women and their families just think how differently our world could be today.
As a way to say thank you to our Veterans from in and around South Louisiana many local businesses are offering specials, discounts, or freebies for those who have served or who are currently on active duty.
One of those places that is offering Veterans a deal for today is Cypress Bayou Hotel and Casino. The Charenton-based casino and entertainment complex has always been keenly aware of serving the needs of veterans and veterans groups. Many events are held at the facility every year and Cypress Bayou loves giving back.
The hotel/casino complex is offering a special deal on meals in Cafe Delphine
The special includes Half BBQ Chicken, Half Rack of Ribs, Rice Dressing, and Baked Beans for $18.99. Cypress Bayou is also offering another special deal to say thanks to our veterans today.
Of course, Cypress Bayou isn't the only business that is offering veterans something special on their day. Starbucks, Scooters Coffee, La Madeline, Olive Garden, Applebees, Chili's Bar and Grill, IHOP, Smoothie King, and Walk-On's also have published special deals for today.
Veteran's Day Ceremonies To Be Held In Lafayette and Scott
In Lafayette, Fountain Memorial will once again host a special day for Veterans.
Fountain Memorial will be honoring America’s veterans who have served during war and peace. The service will be outside, weather permitting. You are allowed to bring your own chairs. The staff of Fountain Memorial Funeral Home will be providing refreshments.
The City of Scott will also hold a Veteran's Day Ceremony today beginning at 9 this morning. The event will be held at the Veterans Memorial at the Rail in Scott. The address is 916 Cayret Street.
These are just some of the many ways Acadiana is honoring those who served. Many of the employees at Morton Salt's Week's Island facility have also served so it's with honor that we use the Shaking Out the Good Stuff platform to help spread the word.
If you're interested in making a career change or you just need a good job with great benefits Morton Salt's Week's Island facility is hiring. Many positions offer top pay and excellent benefits and you get to sleep in your own bed at night, unlike offshore opportunities.
