(KMDL-FM) If you really want to know how the world is feeling, all you have to do is spend a few minutes listening to your favorite radio station or watching your favorite local television program. During the contexts of those shows, you will see and hear advertisements; many of those sales messages are for products that help us feel better, look better, act better, and be better.
Here is how you can use those commercials to your advantage. Take a look at what medical maladies and mysteries the pharmaceutical companies are trying to cure and that will give you an idea of how America truly feels. One of the "entrants" in the we can help you poop department was the soda pop called Poppi. The soda, in addition to its refreshing taste, promised those who drank it a "better bathroom experience". You see, Poppi, the soda pop was marketed as a prebiotic and was alleged to include enough fiber to help promote better health within your "gut" or digestive system.
What Was The Issue With Poppi Soda Pop?
Upon further review, it was determined that Poppi did not contain enough fiber to actually create a "meaningful gut health benefit" from a single can, which is kind of what the soda pop promised.
Well, if you've ever been constipated, you know how angry that can make you feel. It angered some consumers so much that they filed a suit against VNGR Beverage LLC, the former owners of Poppi. The brand has since been sold to PepsiCo.

How Much Can Louisiana Households Expect to be Compensated by Poppi Soda?
Here is where the settlement might get a little, okay, a lot, tricky. The settlement concerns Poppi purchases made between January 23, 2020, and July 18, 2025. Eligible customers with proof of purchase can receive .75 cents for each single can purchased. If you bought a 4-pack, it's $3, $6 for an 8-pack, and $9 for a 12 or 15 pack.
If you want to collect those higher amounts, you will have to provide proof of purchase. Without proof of purchase, the maximum amount you would receive would be $16 per household. Please note that the final amount for payouts will be determined by how many people file a claim against the settlement. So you could get more than $16 or you could get less.
Any settlement claim will need to be filed by Friday. You may submit a claim using this form. A court hearing on the settlement is set for November 20th. There has been no timetable revealed for when payments will be processed and distributed.
