Studies Show That We Don’t Feel Like Grown-Ups Until We Turn 29
Do you feel like a grown-up? If you haven't hit the age of 29, studies claim that the answer is probably 'no.'
Here are the Top 10 reasons why:
- Relying on your parents
- Living at home
- Playing video games
- Watching kids movies
- Watching cartoons
- Being scared of growing up and taking responsibility
- Not wanting a real job
- Wanting to travel and see the world
- Looking up to young role models
- Not having enough life experience
Do any of these fit you? I know that some do for me. The biggest for me however, is wanting to see the world. Traveling is on my bucket list. Hey, I'm still only 22!
Now let's check out the 10 signs that you actually have grown up:
- Buying your first home
- Becoming a parent
- Getting married
- Contributing to your IRA
- Bragging about your house
- Getting life insurance
- Looking forward to spending a weekend night at home
- Doing home improvement work
- Hosting dinner parties
- Having a joint bank account
I think that at some point before we hit the age of 29, we experience at least one of these. I can honestly say that a Saturday movie night is 100% my style as well as having all of my friends over for dinner (I love to cook).
Despite all of these, I think that no matter how old you are, there will always be a part of each and every one of us that is stuck somewhere between being an adult and feeling like a kid again. Our brains may know that we have responsibilities, but our hearts still crave to be young again.
