We will have a nice treat Tuesday, April 7, that everyone can enjoy even with social distancing. The biggest and brightest full moon of 2020, also known as a 'Super Pink Moon', will appear. What is a super moon? It’s when a new or full moon happens at the time of the month when the moon is closest to Earth in its orbit.

Don’t actually expect a ‘pink’ moon, though. Ugh, I know. I wanted it to be pink too. It will be its usual golden color but it will look much bigger and brighter.  The pink moon is another name for April’s full moon and is the first full moon of the spring. It actually gets its name from pink moss phlox that appear this time of the year.

The full moon officially peaks at 10:35 PM EDT on Tuesday, April 7.  Hopefully, we will have clear skies so we can have a good view. While we are stuck at home during the pandemic, it is the simple things that bring us happiness. Get the family out and enjoy this.
