Showers and thunderstorms will rumble through the heart of Acadiana much of today and into the early evening hours. No severe weather is expected but there is a potential for some very heavy rainfall.

Milder temperatures and a chance of showers for Monday. Mardi Gras parades next weekend might see more than beads falling from the sky.

With all of this flooding happening north of Louisiana, what could possibly happen here in Acadiana?

As of 2am the only severe weather watches or warnings were well to the north and east of the 97.3 The Dawg listening area.This storm system should bring some gusty winds, frequent lightning and some heavy downpours to the area as it moves through.

While we are looking for a sleigh and reindeer, Rob and Dave will be watching for severe weather approaching the Lafayette area.
