A lot of us will be keeping our eyes on the sky tonight, Dave Baker and Rob Perillo will be watching the skies for a different reason. While we are looking for a sleigh and reindeer, Rob and Dave will be watching for severe weather approaching the Lafayette area.

The storms prediction center has given much of Acadiana a slight risk of severe weather. The area between Alexandria, Louisiana and Jackson, Mississippi has a moderate risk of heavy storms. This means the probability is quite high that the will be under at least a severe thunderstorm watch for tomorrow morning. This might be upgraded to a tornado watch if conditions change.

Travelers can expect mostly dry conditions for travel today. Those heading west on Christmas Day might run into some rain, thunderstorms, and the potential of flooding.

Rains will be in the Acadiana area from mid morning Christmas Day through mid afternoon tomorrow.
