A collective sad face for all men who are fans of Kimberly Perry, singer for The Band Perry -- she's engaged.

The fiery lead singer of the all-sibling trio said "yes" on Monday night to her boyfriend of a year and a half. The lucky fella is Toronto Blue Jay catcher J.P. Arencibia.

The proposal happened at Kimberly's parent's house in Greenville, Tennessee.

The Perrys moved to the 15-acre spread when she was a teenager. The property is highlighted by a large oak tree. Kimberly said that from the first time she saw the tree she hoped that "if I get proposed to in this life, I hope it happens underneath this tree.”

On Monday night she thought her family was meeting to go to dinner. But, when they called her outside, J.P. was standing underneath the oak tree.

“I saw that and I thought, ‘This is really happening,’ ” Kimberly said.

Her mother sent her back into the house to put on her favorite pink dress, a dress that she always said she wanted to wear if she ever got engaged. When Perry got to the room, there was the dress and a letter from her family and a bracelet that her grandfather and grandmother gave her "way back in the day" when they started dating.

“I got to read the letter and get dressed and put on my grandfather’s bracelet,” she said. “I came back out on the front porch and he was standing there and he got down on one knee. It was perfect.”

(Oh, she said yes.)
