The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball team came into the match-up against Georgia Southern with a losing conference record and they knew that they would have to play better than they did on Thursday night to win on the road.The Cajuns would use their toughness to defeat Georgia Southern 87-85 to get the road victory to move to 11-6 overall and 2-2 in conference play

The first half was a back and forth battle until the Cajuns were able to grab a lead late in the half. Jakeenan Gant was the star for the Cajuns in the first half as he scored 16 points, had 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks. The Cajuns played better in the first half against the Eagles than they did in the first half against Georgia State.

The Cajuns led by as many as 17 points in the second half but the Eagles had a furious comeback. They took the lead late in the 2nd half but it was another back and forth battle late and after a few interesting calls the Cajuns were able to take the lead and not give it back.

Jakeenan Gant had an incredible block and the Cajuns were able to secure the ball and the victory. Gant finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks. PJ Hardy and Marcus Stroman both finished with 12 points a piece.

The Cajuns will now look ahead to next Saturday when they will travel up to Monroe to face off against ULM. The Cajuns will then return home for two match-ups as they will play both South Alabama and Troy on a 2-game home-stand.
