The Davy Jones / Charles Manson Connection

I must admit, I'm heartbroken about the death of Monkees singer Davy Jones earlier this week. I grew up with the Monkees, bought every album, knew EVERY song...even had the lunchbox. The rumor that Charles Manson auditioned for the cast of "The Monkees" back in the day has been a persistant rumbling throughout the years...and  now we know who started that. It was Davy Jones!

Jones told reporter Baird Jones that he had been reluctant to tell the truth for years because he feared it would just reinforce the false rumor.
