Lafayette is losing another local business.

It was announced at the beginning of the month that the Fontana Center will be closing its doors for good on December 31, 2022.

The Facebook post stated, It is with heavy hearts and tears to have to say farewell to our fitness center members who have become such dear friends that we all consider like family. We will be closing our doors at the end of this year.

The beloved physical center, which is located on Kaliste Saloom Road, is a place where people could go to work out and stay in shape or seek occupational therapy for those that were injured on the job.

This was more than just a business to the owners, Paul and Rose Fontana, it was family.

The Fontana's do realize that some customer's memberships will be impacted by the closure but they are willing to work with them. All those customers need to do is stop in and speak to them about the situation.

We are aware that some of you may have purchased punch cards. Please feel free to visit our facility through the month of December. We will reimburse you for any unused punches, the owners announced in a social media post.

And if you are like me and have never been inside of the establishment but know exactly where it is located because you have passed by it a million times throughout your lifetime well it won't look like it does for much longer.

The new owners will start renovating the building immediately so that it will fit their business and needs.
