A 52-year-old man in Windsor, Ontario decided he would try to swipe a 1.7 carat diamond worth $20,000. It all went downhill when he tried to swap out the real diamond with a fake and realized he was caught.

What do you think he did? Swallowed the diamond of course!

Cops arrested him and charged the man with theft, but still need the evidence to, um, emerge. That's why the thief was placed in a holding cell with no toilet.

"Our forensic identification people are the lucky ones who have to go through the waste to obtain the diamond once it passes," said Sgt. Brett Corey of the Windsor Police Department.

No word yet if the waiting game is indeed over.
