There is really nothing better than fresh strawberries in spring and summer. And at this time of year, they are abundant in south Louisiana. We even have a festival to honor them each April. The Louisiana Strawberry Festival in Ponchatoula is one of our tastiest and most fun events, even if it did get cancelled this year due to coronavirus. You can look for it's triumphant return on April 9-11, 2021.

But, like a lot of people, I tend to overbuy the ruby red treats when they are on sale, and it's sometimes a struggle to use them before they wilt, or go bad. And by the way, before I read this hack, I crushed some over ripe strawberries to use for homemade ice cream this weekend. I definitely did not want them to go to waste! But now that I found this little trick, that's probably not going to happen again.

According to the folks at Delish there is a super easy way to revive your strawberries, and it's something everyone can do. In a Facebook post that's been shared over 210,000 times, Brittany King shares advice from her friend Lilly on what to do with strawberries that are bruised, or wilted. Not bad, just in a little slump! It's genius, really, and I can't believe I didn't know about this before. Check out her amazing hack below, and be sure and let us know if it works for you. Honestly, I'm going to try this this weekend. After I make the homemade ice cream, of course.
