The retail clothing business has certainly gotten tougher, at least for those who sell fashion out of a traditional brick and mortar storefront. The latest casualty of America's apparent fascination with free shipping is Forever 21.

The retail clothing outlet that caters to the young and the young at heart has announced plans to close 178 stores across the country. Three of those stores are in Louisiana.

According to a press release from the company the three Louisiana locations that will be closing their doors include:

  • Lake Charles; 3401 Derek Dr., Lake Charles, LA 70607
  • Juban Crossing; 27853 Juban Rd., Denham Springs, LA 70726
  • Mall of Acadiana; 5725 Johnston St, Space #D-164, Lafayette, LA

The Los Angeles based retailer operates three other locations of Forever 21 in the state and over 800 locations across the globe. The closings are part of a bankruptcy restructuring plan that was filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court yesterday.
