In his first winning performance at a major golf championship since 2008, Tiger Woods captivated the sports world from Augusta on Sunday at the Masters.

Woods captured his 15th major with a -13, winning his 5th green jacket.

22 years ago, Woods won his first major at the Masters at only 21 years old.

The last time Woods was Masters champion was 2005. The 14 years between the Masters victories is the longest in tournament history.

After nearly 11 years without any major and multiple surgeries, Woods has reached the top of the golf world again.

At 43 years old, he's the oldest Masters champion since Jack Nicklaus in 1986.

Nicklaus, who was not in attendance, sent a message to Woods.

"A big well done from me to Tiger," read Nicklaus' message. "I'm so happy for him and the game of golf. This is just fantastic."

After his final putt, the thousands in attendance began to scream, "TIGER! TIGER! TIGER!"

Woods let out a giant, "YEAH!", celebrating with his caddie before walking to his family to embrace his mother and children.

"When I tapped the putt in, I don't know what I did. I know I screamed," said Woods. "To have my kids there, it's come full circle. My dad was here in 97, and now I'm a dad with 2 kids there."

Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele and Brooks Koepka all finished one stroke behind Tiger on the leader board at -12.

"I'm sure he's ecstatic about it, that's incredible," said Koepka of Woods' victory. "To have the injuries and be out as long as he has, and to come back and do what he's done, it's been impressive."

Koepka just missed a putt on the 18th hole that could've tied him atop leader board.

Woods trailed Francesco Molinari by 2 strokes entering Sunday, marking the first time Woods won a major while trailing entering the final day. Molinari finished -11.

"I was just trying to plot my way around the golf course, all day," explained Woods. "And then, all of the sudden I had the lead."

A year and a half ago, Woods ranked 1,199th in the world.

Today, he's Masters champion again, and the world of golf is better for it.
