The last name of Cash can be a blessing and a burden if your vocation happens to be "country music singer". Roseanne Cash certainly used her name to her benefit but it never was the reason for her success. In my opinion Roseanne is one of the most underrated performers of the 80's.

It was on this day in 1987 Roseanne released the album King's Record Shop. The disc took its name from a record store in Louisville Kentucky that was owned by the brother of country music hall of fame member Pee Wee King.

The album was not Roseanne's highest charting album but it did spawn four number one singles. One of those hits was a song that was written by her father, Johnny Cash.
