I still remember writing the story about Jennings High School football standout Travis Etienne's commitment to Clemson. If I recall I wasn't too happy with football Travis but I was certainly overjoyed for the young man and his family on a personal level.

Obviously, the coaches at Clemson saw what I and a lot of other fans of high school football saw in Travis. A lot of talent, a strong work ethic, and the desire to win. Well, all of that as served Mr. Etienne quite well in his sophomore season for the nationally ranked Clemson Tigers. Etienne was named yesterday as the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year.

Etienne has truly earned this honor he leads the ACC in rushing and is second in the nation in that category. He's compiled over 1300 yards on the ground and is a driving force in Clemson's drive to win the College Football Playoff's National Championship.

Etienne and his Clemson teammates will face the Pittsburgh Panthers in the ACC Championship game this Saturday. Should Clemson prevail as they are favored to do. That will vault Clemson once again into the College Football Playoff tournament.
