WB I-10 Re-Opened, Secondary Crashes Cause Big Delays

Louisiana State Police says all lanes have reopened, but there are still delays in the Jennings / Egan area. Secondary crashes have added to the headaches and further backups. Drivers are asked to have patience as the crash scenes are cleared.

6:31a UPDATE: The left lane of I-10 westbound is open. Congestion remains as crews work to clean up at the scene.

Westbound lanes of I-10 are closed after a two-vehicle crash this morning according to Louisiana State Police Trooper Thomas Gossen. One of the trucks involved is a welding truck, so authorities decided to close both westbound lanes as firefighters can put out the blaze. It happened near I-10 WB mile marker 68 in the Egan areas. Numerous callers say the backup has reached several miles in length.
