Good Morning America's Ginger Zee has once again captured the imagination of views across the country with a really slick "trick" that caught her on-air co-workers off guard. The fun-loving mother of two simply couldn't resist the chance to add a little shock value during one of her live cut-ins with ABC 7 News Bay Area.

Just to set the stage for this spur-of-the-moment prank, Ginger Zee regularly gets comments and queries from viewers not only about the weather, they like to talk to Ginger about her fashion and style.

If you read the comments on her Twitter feed and Instagram page you'll see most people love what Ginger wears, while others are just ridiculous Internet trolls that the beloved weather scientist wastes no time in putting them in their place.

Recently many of Ginger's fans have raised questions about her hair. Apparently, she has changed her hair color just a bit.

And it was this discussion of hair and fashion and eventually Halloween that set the stage for the on-air hair removal.

The bit started when ABC 7 anchorman Reggie Aqui requested an item from Ginger that he might incorporate into his Halloween costume. Aqui joked that he wanted an item like a Ginger Zee jacket or a piece of clothing and that's when Ginger stunned them all.  You can watch it unfold on Ginger's Instagram account.

Talk about quick thinking and a tremendous sense of comedic timing. Ginger reached into her own hairstyle and removed a hair extension. She then, with very wide eyes held it up to the camera for the ABC 7 team to see.

Needless to say, the ABC 7 crew went wild over the gesture. Ginger even promised to drop the hair extension in the mail and anchor Reggie Aqui promised to return it promptly.

Somehow I don't think this bit would have worked quite as well with Rob Perillo but don't sleep on him and his sense of humor either. These weather folks, you've got to keep your eye on them, remember they're the crazy ones that like to travel into storms and not away from them.
