Two Lafayette People Arrested On Drug Charges In St. Martin Parish
Just before 3 o'clock this morning, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office Patrol Division made a traffic stop on Poydras Highway.
The deputies says both people in the car were acting suspicious.
One person was trying to hide a gun, they say, along with what they call a "significant amount" of marijuana along with a big amount of money.
Narcotics agents recovered high grade marijuana, a loaded pistol and $4,000 in cash.
Alfred Onezine, 27, was booked with the following charges:
- Possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I CDS (Marijuana)
- Illegal Carrying of Weapons while in possession of a CDS
- Obstruction of Justice
- Speeding
Mennefer Sinegal, 35, was charged with the following:
- Possession with the intent to distribute Schedule I CDS (Marijuana)
- Illegal Carrying of Weapons while in possession of a CDS
- Obstruction of Justice
Both were booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center. No bond has been set for either one at this time.
