The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns are in the top 20 in the very first college softball ratings percentage index (RPI) of 2019, which was released on Monday.

Louisiana, who is currently 23-3 on the season, including a 6-0 Sun Belt Conference record, is listed at number 18 this week.

The Cajuns, who went 4-0 last week, return to the diamond on Wednesday evening, playing host to the McNeese St. Cowgirls in a non-conference titlt, before getting back to conference play this weekend, when they travel to Mobile, Alabama to face the South Alabama Jaguars in a Sun Bet Conference series.

Florida St. is the top team in the initial RPI listings, followed by UCLA, Washington, Oklahoma, and Texas.

6-10 consists of LSU, Kentucky, Arizona, Florida, and Tennessee.

Louisiana is the highest ranked Sun Belt Conference school, followed by Texas St. (#62), Troy (#70), Appalachian St. (#76), UTA (#78), Coastal Carolina (#81), South Alabama (#105), Georgia Southern (#144), Georgia St. (#224), and ULM (#227).
