
Where Does UL Softball Rank In First RPI Poll?
Where do the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns rank in the first college softball ratings percentage index (RPI) poll of 2017, which were released on Monday?
Louisiana, who is currently 20-5 on the season, including a perfect 3-0 Sun Belt Conference record, ranks number 41 this week.
The Cajuns, who swept a three-game conference series from UTA last weekend, travels to Mobile, Alabama this weekend, to take on the South Alabama Jaguars in a three-game conference set.
Washington is the top team in the RPI rankings, followed by Alabama, Arizona, Texas A&M, and Baylor in the top 5.
6-10 consists of Florida St., Auburn, Oregon, Florida, and UCLA.
Minnesota, James Madison, LSU, Tennessee, and Oklahoma or at 11-15, while Ohio St., Georgia, California, Kentucky, and Utah round out the top 20.
Texas, Illinois, Michigan, South Carolina, and Arkansas are in the 2-25 spots, respectively.
Texas St. is the highest ranked Sun Belt Conference school, checking in at #29, followed by Louisiana (#41), South Alabama (#51), Georgia St. (#63), Coastal Carolina (#65), UTA (#87), Troy (#95), ULM (#113), Georgia Southern (#116), and Appalachian St. (#196).
