A threat of storms late Tuesday should yield to beautiful weather for weekend parades throughout Acadiana. The warm temperatures of Sunday should stick around one more day and then things will begin to change.

Dave Baker's forecast is calling for a good chance of rain with some heavy thunderstorms by late Tuesday into the early hours of Wednesday. While the potential for severe weather will be minimal, the potential for heavy downpours and gusty winds will certainly be worth considering.

This change in the weather is being brought about by a cold front moving from west to east. The frontal system should clear South Louisiana by early Wednesday returning our temperatures to more normal readings for late in the work week and into the weekend.

That is great news for parade goers who have plans to attend this weekends Mardi Gras festivities including the Krewe Des Chien, Carencro and Krewe of Carnivale en Rio parades.
