Severe thunderstorms are pushing through the heart of Acadiana this morning.
The temperatures weren't the only things that were falling during this live TV weather broadcast.

You might want your umbrella for later today, tonight and especially tomorrow. Much cooler weather is forecast for later in the week.

As of 2am the only severe weather watches or warnings were well to the north and east of the 97.3 The Dawg listening area.This storm system should bring some gusty winds, frequent lightning and some heavy downpours to the area as it moves through.
A threat of storms late Tuesday should yield to beautiful weather for weekend parades throughout Acadiana. The warm temperatures of Sunday should stick around one more day and then things will begin to change.
Temperatures will be seasonable, maybe a little cooler than average, with overnight temperatures generally in the mid 30's. Afternoon high temperatures will moderate to near 60 degrees by the weekend.
Schools have been closed, roads have been closed, sandbags have been filled and plans have been changed by many people in South Louisiana. The reason for all this disruption? Heavy rain that just won't seem to go away.
