The past couple of days I have spent some time in the backyard gazing into the deep blue January sky. My thoughts have turned to springtime things like Ragin Cajun Baseball and Ragin Cajun Softball and how it won't be too much longer until I can sleep, er listen in the hammock to Jay Walker and Steve Peloquin on the radio with the broadcast of my two favorite springtime teams.

While thoughts of dark rimmed glasses and double  plays have been on the minds of most of us the past few days, Old Man Winter is about to make a return visit to the area. Today our biggest issue might be fog. There is enough moisture in the air and the winds are light enough that fog could develop across the region early this morning and that could pose a problem for motorist.

Today's high temperature will be a very comfortable 75 degrees. There will be an increase in clouds through out the day. Still there will be a need for sunglasses for drivers during most of the daylight hours.

Tonight a cold front will slip through the area while there could be a sprinkle, chances are most of us will stay dry and just get quite a bit cooler. The forecast high for Friday in Acadiana will be about 15 degrees cooler than the forecast high for today.

Saturday is currently forecast to be a cloudy but cool day with rain chances starting to appear by late afternoon. Sunday will be a great day for listening to the radio inside the house as rain chances will be at 60% or better and temperatures will be cool. The long range outlook has cloudy and cooler weather hanging around for much of the next work week.
