As a holiday weekend approaches, it’s clear that a few country stars may have begun celebrating a little early. Here’s a bit of good news that has surfaced today (May 26) from George Jones‘ camp regarding his recent health scare. The legendary singer has been released from the hospital and is resting comfortably at home this Memorial Day weekend, thanks to the wonderful care he received from physicians this go around.

May 25, 2012 The concerts this weekend are nice. The promise of grilling in the backyard is nice too. The day off from work is certainly welcomed by all of us. The reason for all of this is sometimes lost on us. Memorial Day is our day to remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy a concert, picnic or a day off.
May 25, 2012 Vietnam Veterans of America, Acadiana Chapter #141, will be holding an event Saturday at 10am to honor the memory of Louisiana's fallen soldiers. The tribute will be held at 300 N. Dugas Road in Lafayette.
May 25, 2012 Homemade ice cream is one of my favorite flavors of my childhood. We had the old fashioned hand crank ice cream freezer at our house. I like the hand crank better than the electric models you can purchase today. I think the reason the hand cranked method was my favorite is because hand cranking takes time.
