The New Iberia Public Works Department will hand out filled sandbags from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at 907 Fulton Street.

We'll keep you posted on any more information regarding sandbags in other Parishes.

Anyone wanting sandbags will need to bring their own shovel, and they will have to bag the sand themselves.

Police remind everyone to drive safely.

The St. Landry Parish Government says they will continue to monitor the weather today.

There are two locations for sandbags in the parish.

Residents are asked to take no more than 20 bags per household.

Because of the flooding rains throughout Acadiana, some areas are beginning to make sandbags available to residents.

Crowley Police Chief K. P. Gibson says residents may pick up sandbags until 3:00 this afternoon at the city's Public Works Building.  Crowley is experiencing flooding due to backwater from the Mermentau River flowing into local bayous.  Gibson says the Mermentau is expected to crest Sunday night at over 9 feet, which could result in more water entering the city...
