Here in the good Ol' U.S.A. when someone cuts us off in traffic or when they aren't behaving in a pleasant way we all have our go to hand sign. I don't remember where I first learned how to make that sign or even how old I was when I learned but I do know I have had many occasions to use it.

Vacations don't have to be a long drive away, they don't have to involve airports or TSA. A vacation is simply some time to get away from the everyday, to relax and recharge yourself. Here in Louisiana we are blessed with some great reasons not to drive far, it's our Louisiana State Parks!

Flying is not something I really like. I do it when I have to and I prefer to have a Dramamine along for the ride or else things get really uncomfortable. One of the most annoying things about flying is the way the guy in front of you always seems to have the seat that leans way back into your lap.

Memorial Day is this weekend. That means the kids are out of school and a large number of us will be heading somewhere sandy with salt water taffy on sale nearby. I do like the beach but I never seem to bring the right things with me. I have done some homework on your behalf and we have come across some new beach gear you didn't even know you needed, until now.

My wife Jill is a traveler, she loves to explore new places, meet new people and see amazing things when she is on vacation. Me, I like to sit at the beach, listen to the ocean and sleep. I have been blessed in my life to see a lot of different things, I have seen the lights of Times Square in New York, I have floated on the canals in Venice. I have seen the sun shining a midnight and I have seen and touched what once was the Berlin Wall. I obviously have not seen it all ! Here are some of the things that I have missed.

Well in these days of TSA security and $50 dollar luggage fees knowing before you are going is a pretty big deal. Two of the best trips I have ever taken in my life both came as a complete surprise. On one occasion my wife met me at the door with a packed bag and told me to get in the car we were going to the airport. We wound up in St. Louis for Cardinals Baseball, a tour of the Budweiser Brewery and a trip to the International Bowling Museum. Okay so I like bowling.

I get very nervous when I fly, partially because of the flying and the other part is security. I always figure I will be the guy that gets pulled out of line and thrown to the floor and strip searched in the concourse.
