Wrinkles for most people are an inevitability in life. But we all know there are lots of creams, tighteners, fillers and surgeries to help turn back the hands of time.

Or you can stop doing some things in your everyday life to help slow down the process.

Here are five things we do everyday that causes wrinkles.

  1. Squinting. It causes wrinkles around your eyes and the bridge of your nose. This is kind of hard to stop doing here in south Louisiana when you walk outside in the middle of summer and the sun is beaming down. Well maybe you could always wear sunglasses.
  2. Sleeping on your stomach or your side. You end up with your face squished on the pillow for six-to-eight hours. And it could also restrict blood flow to the side of your face you sleep on, which can also cause wrinkles. Yeah, good luck with this one, because we all enjoy sleeping on our back.
  3. Rubbing your eyes. (But I'm tired all the time, beb!) The skin around your eyes is the most delicate skin on your body and you end up stretching it out. Add in the fact that you transfer dirt and oil from your hands to your face, which isn't good.
  4. Eating too much sugar. It messes with your hormones and destroys some of the collagen in your skin, which in turn makes it lose some of its elasticity.
  5. Being in the sun while you're driving. The windows in your car only stop one type of UV rays, and that's called UVB rays. But UVA rays still get through and damage your skin.
