97.3 The Dawg Helps Present Check to Second Harvest Food Bank of Acadiana

It was my great pleasure yesterday to represent 97.3 The Dawg and help present Second Harvest Food Bank of Acadiana a check for $1,276.43.

You may recall at the end of last year we helped promote a great local Christmas CD called Cajun Christmas Nights that our good friend Chris Foreman helped orchestrate. The disc features several local musicians including Wayne Toups, Jamie Bergeron, Geno Delafose and more. We also helped put on the Cajun Christmas Nights concert at Outlaws in Lafayette.

A portion of the proceeds from the sales of the CD and concert helped comprise the donation. There were many great organizations that helped make this possible including Stage Call Entertainment, Don's Specialty Meats, Hospice Compassus and Hampton Toyota.

Now our friends at Second Harvest Food Bank can do even more good in the community. This amazing organization can stretch every dollar they get to equate to $15.50 worth of food! So considering that, your donation just turned into nearly $20,000 to assist needy friends in Acadiana!

Again, thank you Acadiana for supporting this great organization and we look forward to next year's check being even bigger.
