Rock and country star Aaron Lewis paid a visit to south Louisiana yesterday to not only share some of his new music but also to help do some good for the flood victims. And boy did he and our great listeners deliver.

We were able to invite several listeners to a special VIP acoustic performance by Aaron at The Grouse Room in Lafayette. In exchange for a spot on the guest list, everyone was asked to bring needed items to be donated to the Lafayette Salvation Army.

You guys were more than generous with your donations and we were able to make a nice contribution to a great charity.

Aaron's performance didn't disappoint as he cranked up some of your favorites like "Country Boy", "Granddaddy's Gun", and a fan-requested rendition of Prince's "When Doves Cry".

He wrapped up the evening with his new song "That Ain't Country", which you can currently hear on 97.3 The Dawg. The song is the lead single off of his new album "Sinner", which comes out September 16.
