Acadiana Places 3 Towns on Louisiana’s Safest Towns List
When you boil down what really concerns us you can count those concerns on one hand. One of the fingers you'd be holding up while you were counting would be one that represented your family's safety. A safe place to call home is the reason so many people choose to live where they live. Here in Acadiana, three towns in our region have been listed as part of the state's safest towns.
The website HomeSnacks does this Safest Towns survey every year. They use data from the FBI's Uniform Crime Report and other criteria to determine what communities make their list. This year three towns in Acadiana are in the top 10.
Those towns are Youngsville, ranked as the state's second safest city. Along with Scott, ranked as the state's fifth safest city. And Jennings was included too, that community was ranked as the state's seventh safest city. DeRidder also made the list at number nine.
If you're wondering what town earned the top spot on the list, that would be Addis. I know, I had to look it up too. It's a community along the banks of the Mississippi River in West Baton Rouge Parish.
And no, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, Lafayette, Lake Charles, and Alexandria, the state's largest cities didn't even come close to making the list. At least we all have a goal to work toward right?
