After Power Outage, Trader Joes’s Donates 10,000 Lbs of Food
The Metairie location of Trader Joe's grocery store gets a gold star today for their generous donation to a local food bank. After the chain lost power yesterday during the sudden thunder storms that swept across Louisiana, management made a call to the local chapter of Second Harvest Food Bank to make their donation. Over 10,000 lbs of perishable food items were delivered to the Elmwood location of the food bank, including milk, yogurt and cheese. Frozen items were also sent over in 4 refrigerated trucks.
Second Harvest Food Bank of New Orleans and Acadiana serves 23 parishes across Louisiana, and feeds around 210,000 people each year. Thanks to Trader Joe's for their generosity this holiday season!
