Today's Shaking Out the Good Stuff spotlight with Morton Salt's Weeks Island facility takes us to Downtown Lafayette. It's a musical event that has been years in the making and the reason for its existence is to ensure that our creative community always has someone watching out for them.

It's the Blue Monday Concert Series and the Blue Monday Jam. Tonight that is happening at downtown Lafayette's Grouse Room. If you're looking for a place to unwind from your Monday business day and help out a good cause then tonight at the Grouse Room is where you want to be.

The Blue Monday Mission is the beneficiary of these "jam sessions" and the funds raised are used to help members of Acadiana's creative community with medical, healthcare, and other life issues. Many of our Acadiana's iconic performers are growing older and there is a need to ensure that they have what they need as they entire this stage of their lives.

You can support the Blue Monday Mission by simply attending tonight's show. There is a cost associated. For $20 you can get into the Grouse Room and you can pick up a meal too. If you'd like to donate more, that is always appreciated.

The music starts at 6 pm and will feature the Blue Monday All-Stars band and host of guest performers. As the concert series likes to boast, "You never know who will show up". It's a literal Who's Who in Acadiana's music scene any time there is a Blue Monday Jam featuring the Blue Monday All-Stars.

Grassroots groups such as Blue Monday and it's supporting agency, Love of People have been helping out our aging creative community for years. That's why Morton Salt's Weeks Island facility wanted to share this story with you via the Shaking Out the Good Stuff Platform.

If you know of a group in Acadiana that is making life better or bringing joy to others, Morton Salt would like to know so we can "shake out " the good stuff for everyone to hear. Just contact us here at the Radio Station and we'll be happy to share your story.

And if your story involves looking for a better job with higher pay and better benefits, then please look at what Morton Salt has to offer. They are hiring at Weeks Island right now and you could find yourself with the job of your dreams, making the money you deserve, and still sleeping in your own bed at home at night.
