Fans of the 10th ranked Ragin Cajun Softball program who arrive at Lamson Park on Thursday evening at 6 PM will have to wait a while for the game to start. Despite what your printed schedule may say, the game will not begin at 6, instead, the first pitch will come at 7:30.

The adjustment to the start time of the Cajun's opening game of a three-game weekend series was made to accommodate travel issues with Georgia State. The push back in start time might also bode well as far as weather goes on Thursday too.

Forecasters expect a lot of rain and the potential of severe thunderstorms in the Lafayette area during the day on Thursday. However, most forecast models have the weather clearing the area by 6 PM. So, the 7:30 start might just help avoid a rain delay or a doubleheader on Friday or Saturday.

And yes, this week the Cajuns play a Thursday, Friday, Saturday schedule of games because of the Easter holiday. Start times for the Friday and Saturday games have not been changed.

The team is scheduled to close out the home schedule of the regular season next weekend when Coastal Carolina comes to Lamson Park. Meanwhile, following this weekend's series with Georgia State, Cajun Softball will be on the road next Wednesday for a game in Ruston against Louisiana Tech. The Cajuns close out the regular season at Louisiana-Monroe May 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
